Most of the time, I love old Halloween ads. I like the stylings of the drawings, how the ad uses old-fashioned Halloween tropes and characters to sell the product. This Cracker Jack ad, however, doesn't really sell me. Perhaps it's the fact they didn't use anything scary in this picture. Look at the children - they're dressed in nice, proper Halloween attire, not spooky monsters. The Jack-O-Lantern is smiling instead of trying to scare. The mom isn't even dressed up at all, and it's not nighttime. It's just a little bit disappointing, Cracker Jack, and I don't think I want you for Halloween anymore. So there!

The Evil Ad #53
Most of the time, I love old Halloween ads. I like the stylings of the drawings, how the ad uses old-fashioned Halloween tropes and characters to sell the product.
